We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft IAM Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team. This is a remote position based in the USA, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the country.
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned IAM expert with 15+ years of experience in systems engineering and architecture, focusing on Microsoft Identity technologies such as Entra ID, External ID, Governance, Verified ID, Workload ID, Internet, Private Access, Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS), and hybrid identity concepts.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading projects, strong problem-solving skills, and stays up-to-date with emerging technologies. They should work well independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of projects and managing timelines. A mix of technical expertise, adaptability, communication, and self-motivation is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce enterprise-level designs for Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, SaaS application integration, Azure App and SSO for enterprise initiatives, following those through to implementation via collaboration with project and support teams.
- Assist with the analysis of customer business needs and develop proposed solutions.
- Experience implementing cloud-based security policies and procedures, control standards, and operational practices.
- Hands-on experience in securely designing, architecting, and running AAD B2B/B2C/B2E.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide timely support to clients and internal teams.
Your Skills and Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID/External ID, including Azure Active Sync & Cloud Sync configurations.
- Expertise in Conditional Access Policies and strong knowledge in authentication concepts such as Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO, Federation, Authorization (Fine- and Coarse-grained), and Session Management.
- Proficient CLI and PowerShell scripting, as well as Microsoft Graph API and MSAL, with programming and runtime experience in Java, .NET, PowerShell, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Knowledgeable in modern authentication protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, as well as industry-standard authorization flows (e.g., PKCE, Authorization Code, Client Credentials).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, and configuring Azure B2C tenants, including multi-tenant setups and custom policies tailored to business needs.
Nice to have
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator
- Experience with Logic Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Internet Access and Private Access
- Familiarity with other IAM solutions like Okta, ForgeRock, Oracle, SailPoint, etc.
